Last night Morgan went into the restroom, nothing unusual there. Then Keri walks up to the door and with open palms starts smacking the door loudly. Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam!
Morgan yells, “Dad!”
No why on earth would she think I would do something like that? Do I ever pick on her? I mean come on; I’m as guiltless as a newborn, right?
Well, ok, let’s maybe not go into all of that.
So I tell her through the door that it wasn’t me. Strangely she didn’t believe me.
When she gets out I reaffirm my innocence, and I remind her that I’m not going to lie to her and that it wasn’t me. She still isn’t convinced. I suggest that she ask her mom to see if she will deny banging on the door.
Morgan asks Keri, and Keri plays innocent. “Did I do what? What are you talking about?”
Morgan says, “Don’t feign ignorance.”
I completely lost it. I have never heard her use that expression before and it cracked me up big time. Somehow I never considered that she might pick up on that, despite the fact she hears me use ‘feign ignorance’ from time to time.
Oh my gosh, that kid is cool!
