Six More Weeks of Winter

So yesterday Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, I'm told. It's too bad I missed it, but it is hard for television to capture the excitement of a giant squirrel predicting the weather. At least that's what Bill Murray said in Groundhog Day, and I see no reason to dispute him.

If the groundhog sees his shadow, then it's supposed to mean we have six more weeks of winter, if he does not then we have an early spring. Looking at my trusty Star Wars calendar, the first day of Spring occurs on March 20 this year; yeah that's about six weeks away.

This little rodent is smarter than he looks it would seem.

The problem with winter is that it is COLD. Yuck! Another problem is that it is the ugliest season we have, unless the ground is covered with snow and then it is a beautiful season. If we have to have the cold and yuck for six more weeks, I hope that means we can have six more weeks of snow.

Who's with me?
