Super Bowl XLIII

Yippee!!

The Steelers won the Super Bowl! Yes! Awesome! Cool! Way to go!

When I was a kid, I was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Then when I was in high school, I started following da Bears. When the Colts moved to Indy, naturally I started rooting for the home team. So you have to understand, if the Steelers were playing the Colts or da Bears, I would not be rooting for Pittsburgh, but if they're playing anyone else, pow!

Once Indy was knocked out of the playoffs, I was rooting for Arizona to make the Super Bowl, after all they had never been to one and did in fact have pretty much the worst postseason in the history of the NFL.

Once they are actually playing the Steelers, any caring thoughts I had for the birdies are gone.

What a close game! I was cringing as the Steelers let a 13 point lead turn into a deficit. I tried screaming at Tomlin, naturally I had the best strategy for winning the game, but for some reason he just wouldn't follow my advice. As loud as I got, I'm sure he could have heard me in Tampa from northern Indiana, even over the crowd noise. He was just ignoring me, I suppose.

But what a great game! NFL.com called it one of the wildest finishes in Super Bowl history, and I for one am inclined to agree. And that interception and 100 yard run back by Harrison, wow!

What a spectacular ending! A phenomenal catch by Holmes with what, 20 or so seconds on the clock?! And then a fumble recovery with 5 seconds to go to end it.

You know Cardinals, you did a great job. With this being your first Super Bowl, you made it such a Super Bowl. Do not hang your heads, because you played great. There is no shame in the type of game you had. Something tells me that Arizona will be staging a Super Bowl comeback very soon.

It is a game like this that keeps me looking forward to the next Super Bowl.
