Why is the Heat Gone?

Keri, Gail, and the kids are still in Kokomo. They went to get some paint from Lowes, this was around 3:30 or so. About ten ‘till ten I talk to Keri on the phone. Apparently they will be leaving Wal-Mart in ten to fifteen minutes. All righty then.

Keri reminded me that I needed to take a movie back to the store, Australia with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. Good movie, it’s long but worth watching for sure. Anyway, it’s about one and a quarter miles to the video store and I’m debating how I want to get there.

Walking is my first choice. But it’s been raining a lot. What if I get caught in some kind of downpour halfway there? So walking is out. I know, I’ll ride the bicycle. Yeah, I dusted it off earlier and this would be the perfect time to use it again. A nice evening ride. (this was around 10pm). That’ll be great, about a ten minute roundtrip. I could handle a little rain if it started. Sure I can.

So out the door I go, ready to unlock my bike. Oh dear. It seems to be raining. Hmmn. Wait a minute, it’s COLD out here. I’m still in my Hawaiian shirt and shorts from this afternoon when t was 70 something. How the heck did it get this cold? Why is the heat gone? Forget this!

I check the temperature and it says it is 50 degrees outside. Huh? Why is the heat gone? Crap.

So I drive down to the video store. Boring, but warm and dry anyway.

Now it’s twenty after ten, Keri was going to call me when they left Wal-Mart, but she hasn’t called yet. It would seem that ten to fifteen minutes was a somewhat overly optimistic estimate of time left in the store.

After all of this I have only one question.

But why is the heat gone?
